Identity & Role
Greetings.
My name is Afonso, born and raised in Portugal.
As a loose job label, I am a Graphic Designer... but as you can see
from my porfolio work, I am so much more than that simple label.
I design logos, build responsive websites, edit video, and manage social content for brands in Portugal and worldwide.
I have been learning many of these skills for years. Some, I have mastered, while others I am still learning (like the coding I used to build this website).

Hunger to Create
My desire to create has always been present, ever since I can remember.
I may not have been aware of that, but this hunger, this desire, presented itself through my actions.
It was there when I tried drawing corporate logotypes, country flags and weird characters from my favorite videogames
and TV shows when I was a five year old kid.
Watching movies and TV has been a huge inspiration for my personal development and work.
I have found that cinema in particular, when done well, has a tremendous effect on my behavior.
For that reason, I am very interested in the art of filmmaking and am also interested in literature.
Those are both areas that I hope to pursue one day.

Skill Level
Adobe Photoshop
I am extremely good at Photoshop. I am particularly good at Poster Design and any sort of product advertisement.
I also use it for 2D Animations, Photo Manipulations, Drawing and Illustrations.
I have been using it for 5+ years! It is the software I am most familiar with.

Adobe Illustrator
Another Adobe software I have a lot of experience with, however with a smaller usage.
I use it mainly for Vector Illustrations and Logo design.

DaVinci Resolve
I have grown very familiar with DaVinci and am familiar with video editing techniques across a large range of genres.
Those genres include: Short films, Advertising campaigns, Documentaries, Ceremonies (i.e. weddings and baptisms).

HTML & CSS
I use Visual Studio for all of my coding and have been doing so for 6 months.
I am very familiar with HTML, and am still studying the more complex/advanced parts of CSS (like animations).

Figma
Figma is a very intuitive software that I was easily able to master in a short period of time.
I use it mainly (currently) to create wireframes for my personal website designs and to create interesting animations.

Krita
Krita is a drawing/animation software, which I have used to create my animation "A lenda do Castelo de Faria".
Currently, I am learning JS (JavaScript) and aiming to improve my design work in general.
I am also looking to improve my drawing skills and looking forward to try more animation work.
